If you are also an adventure lover then make a plan to visit Rameshwaram, you will not feel like coming back

There are many places associated with Lord Rama in India, but Rameshwaram is the most famous. It is said that Lord Rama worshiped Lord Shiva here, hence it is known as Rameshwaram, which means “shrine of Lord Rama”. It is believed that at that time Pamban Island was connected to the Indian mainland, but later it became a separate small island. Now this island is connected by a rail bridge called Pamban Bridge. Lord Rama had built a bridge near this place to conquer Lanka. The remains of this place can still be seen in Dhanushkodi. It is a place which is visited not only by religious people but also by those interested in ancient architecture.

Places to visit in Rameshwaram:

Ramanathaswamy Temple: This is the main attraction here, which is considered to be one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva. There are two lingas here – Ramnath and Vishwantar. It is said that when Lord Rama thought of worshiping Lord Shiva here, he asked Hanuman to bring the Shivalinga from Mount Kailash. When Hanuman got late, he worshiped the sand Shivalinga made by Sita. Later, when Hanuman brought the Shivalinga, an attempt was made to install it in place of the sand Shivalinga, but it did not move from its place. Then, another Shivalinga was also installed along with it and it was decided that the Shivalinga brought by Hanuman would always be worshiped first, followed by the Ramnath Shivalinga.

Pamban Bridge : This is the first sea bridge in India and the only way to reach Rameshwaram. The Pamban Bridge was built in 1914 and remained India's longest sea bridge until the completion of the Sea Link in Mumbai in 2010. Whether you travel by rail or road, you get a beautiful view of the sea on both sides.

Abdul Kalam House: Former President Abdul Kalam Azad's house is also here. His brother's family still lives here. A part of the house has been converted into a museum, where things related to his life are kept. You can come here from 10 am to 6 pm.

Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park: This marine national park extends from Rameshwaram to Tuticorin island. The Gulf of Mannar is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve known for its marine biodiversity. More than four thousand species of marine plants and animals make it even more special.
