A strange incident happened with Spain's young sensation Lamin Yamal during the Euro Cup 2024 final. If 17-year-old Yamal plays the full 90 minutes in the final against England, he can be fined Rs 27 lakh under Germany's labor law, which his team will have to pay.
Yamal will celebrate his 17th birthday a day before the final against England. He became the youngest player to score a goal at the age of 16 years and 362 days. Despite his brilliant performance, he is unlikely to play the entire final. According to German labor law, young people under the age of 18 cannot work after 8 pm on any day. There is a slight advantage for athletes, who are allowed till 11 pm. Spain will have the first 60 minutes to play against Yamal in the final. Even after this, if they continue to play, then under German labor law, the Spanish Football Association will be fined 30 thousand euros i.e. Rs 27 lakh. Spain coach Fuente said that he does not know if there is such a rule in Germany. After 11 pm, the management will decide whether to call them back from the field or not.
