As the Lok Sabha 2024 elections are approaching, parties one after the other are announcing election manifestos. While Congress announced its election manifesto on Saturday, Communist Party of India (CPI) also released its election manifesto today. In which the party promised that the objective of the Communist Party of India is to bring central investigative agencies like ED and CBI within the ambit of Parliament so that the executive cannot misuse the investigative agencies.
Promised to end Agneepath scheme
Apart from this, the party has promised increase in wealth tax, inheritance tax and corporate tax, removal of 50 per cent cap on reservation, immediate implementation of women's reservation, caste-wise enumeration, repeal of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Apart from this, the party has increased the minimum wage under MNREGA by Rs 200. 700, increasing the number of working days available in a calendar year to 200 days, abolishing the Agneepath scheme and re-introducing the old pension scheme.

The party has also promised to remove government interference in the appointments of the Chief Election Commissioner and other election commissioners and fight for the abolition of the post of Governor to ensure the independence of the Election Commission. It also promises to abolish NITI Aayog, reinstate Planning Commission, end changes in textbooks and replace the new education policy with a people-friendly model of education for the entire country.
