Maharashtra Politics: Preparations have been started by political parties for the Maharashtra assembly elections. On one hand, there is a demand for seat sharing in the NDA, while on the other hand, apart from seat sharing in the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, discussions are also going on about the face for the post of Chief Minister. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) has sought a guarantee from Congress and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction). Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) says that before contesting the elections, it should be decided that if the Maha Vikas Aghadi comes to power, Uddhav Thackeray will become the Chief Minister.
According to reports, Uddhav Thackeray was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for about two and a half years. But in 2022, Eknath Shinde changed the party and Uddhav Thackeray had to step down. A leader of the opposition alliance said, 'Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) wants that a consensus should be reached on the name of our leader first. Only after this should the seat sharing be discussed.' Not only this, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) wants the largest share of seats.
Demand of Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction)
Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) does not want to take any risk and is already demanding guarantees. Last week, Uddhav Thackeray went to Delhi. He was accompanied by his son Aditya and senior party leader Sanjay Raut. He met Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. Apart from this, he also met Sharad Pawar. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) made only one demand from all these leaders that a decision should be taken in advance regarding the post of Chief Minister. It is worth noting that after the election results in the year 2019, the war between Shiv Sena and BJP started on this issue.
Congress is not ready to back down!
Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) says that BJP had promised that their leader would be made the Chief Minister after winning the elections. At the same time, BJP has denied any such agreement. In such a situation, taking lessons from 2019, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) does not want to take any risk now. Also, Congress is also not ready to back down. They contested 17 Lok Sabha seats and won 13. While Uddhav Sena won 9 out of 21 and Sharad Pawar Group won 8 out of 10 seats. In such a situation, Congress believes that the public has considered it the largest party in the state. Therefore, its claim on more seats in Maharashtra is strong. The next few days will be important in terms of this confrontation.
