If we have to change the law for Pong Dam displaced people, we will do so: Chief Minister

Dharamshala, June 29 (HS). Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that I understand the problem of Pong Dam displaced people. Our government does not vacate anyone's house, but gives three times the amount to build a house. If the law has to be changed for the interests of the people of Dehra and the Pong Dam displaced people, we will change it. Due to the election code of conduct, we cannot make any announcement right now. But, every possible help will be given to the displaced people.

The Chief Minister said this while addressing the Youth Congress's Yuva Sammelan during the election campaign of Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur in Dehra on Saturday. He said that the former independent MLA has sold his MLA post for his political benefit and to weaken democracy. He got sold in the BJP's political market only 14 months after becoming MLA for the second time.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh said that people had elected him as an independent MLA for the second time for 5 years. He could have got work done from whichever government came. The people of Dehra should ask Hoshiar that he was neither from Congress nor from BJP, then what problem arose that he resigned. If the Congress government was not working, then he should have sat in opposition with BJP, what was the need to impose by-election. He would have been getting MLA and discretionary funds, he would have worked for the people with that. BJP and Hoshiar Singh have forcibly imposed this by-election by playing with the sentiments of the people.

The Chief Minister said that after being sold, Hoshiar Singh did not come to Dehra assembly constituency for a month. He was busy in toppling the government, sat on dharna to get his resignation accepted. No independent MLA resigns like this, this was the pressure of the briefcase full of stuff which was received from BJP. The independent MLAs were putting pressure to accept the resignation quickly because the second installment was to be received only after leaving the MLA post.

The CM said that Hoshiar Singh should tell if he ever sat on a dharna for the people of Dehra and the Central University. He sat on a dharna outside the Vidhan Sabha only for his own selfish interests. The lotus for which the honest BJP workers sweated, was bought by Hoshiar Singh. I request the hardworking and honest BJP workers to vote for the Congress candidate, as this election is between the Congress and the sold out MLA. Hoshiar Singh has stopped the development of Dehra. If the former MLA spends 15 crore rupees per month, then why did he not get the area developed?

The Chief Minister said that he started the work of Central University in Dehra, got the forest clearance done. A Zoological Park is being built at a cost of 680 crores, which will have jungle safari, big hotels and other facilities. 2000 youth will get employment in it. I request the youth to attack the BJP's politics of buying and selling through votes on 10th July. This is the time to teach a lesson to those who buy the lotus and deceive the public. The people of Dehra should send Kamlesh Thakur to victory, the face of the area will change in three and a half years and there will be immense development. This election is between honesty and dishonesty. The sellable former MLA repeatedly lied to the people of Dehra, there is a pile of problems in the area. After Kamlesh wins, every problem of Dehra will be solved. The people of Dehra should vote to become a partner in the government, to sit in the opposition. Dehra will write a new history of development only if it goes with the government.

On this occasion, Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, Chairman Cabinet Rank Bhawani Pathania, Deputy Whip in the Assembly Kewal Singh Pathania, MLA Sanjay Ratna, former minister Kuldeep Kumar, Chairman Nardev Kanwar, Sanjay Chauhan, former MLA Yograj, Ajay Mahajan, Congress treasurer Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Block President Pushpinder Thakur, former candidate Pawan Thakur, Youth Congress President Kulwinder etc were present.
