The Supreme Court on Tuesday reprimanded the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Center while hearing petitions related to alleged paper leak and irregularities in NEET-UG 2024. The Supreme Court bench said that even the slightest negligence of anyone should be dealt with strictly. The petition has been filed on behalf of Amulya Vijay Pinpati and Nitin Vijay in the NEET case. The petitions have demanded an inquiry into the NEET paper leak. The Supreme Court will hear the matter on July 8.
Along with this, the Supreme Court has sought a reply from NTA and the Center within two weeks. The lawyer appearing on behalf of Nitin Vijay said that if such an exam is held then how will anyone become a doctor, God is the master. NTA objected to this and said, give us an answer. The petitioner's lawyer said that NTA has accepted its mistake in the grace mark case. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has sought a reply from the Center and NTA within two weeks.
The Supreme Court has directed the NTA and the Center to respond. He said that according to the petitioner, we cannot give any order today. The Supreme Court told the Center and NTA that if there has been even 0.001% negligence on anyone's part, then it should be dealt with completely. The children have prepared for the exam, we cannot forget their hard work.
The apex court said that just imagine a doctor treating a dead person in this manner, it should be investigated. The court also told the Centre and NTA that the petitions filed against NEET-UG should not be treated as counter arguments. The Supreme Court has also directed both the institutions to admit and rectify any mistake in conducting the examination.
On the other hand, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has filed a petition in the High Court to transfer the case filed by the National Medical Commission to the Supreme Court, on which the Supreme Court said that it will hear it on July 8. Earlier also, the Supreme Court had issued a notice on the transfer petition of NTA and fixed the date of hearing on July 8. On July 8, the court will also hear about a dozen petitions on various aspects including the demand for investigation into the paper leak case.
