Islamabad – Amid the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, a statement by controversial Pakistani MP Sher Afzal Khan Marwat is being criticized not only in Pakistan but in the entire subcontinent. In an interview that went viral on social media, Marwat had said, “If there is a war, I will run to England.” His statement causes anger among citizens, military experts and political observers and is being fiercely mocked on social media.
Migration during war – public is angry
Answering a simple question asked by a journalist, Marwat said, “If there is a war between India and Pakistan, I will go directly to England.” Pakistani citizens have expressed anger over his statement. Critics say that on the one hand Pakistani soldiers are sacrificing for the country on the border, and on the other hand an MP is openly announced to flee abroad for his safety – it is a sign of serious disability of Pakistan’s political leadership. From common citizens to journalists, many people are saying on social media, “When your MPs talk about running for security, how can the morale of army soldiers be maintained?”
Anthemm comment on Prime Minister Modi too
In the second part of this viral video, the journalist asked him a question about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this, Marwat gave a very irresponsible and ridiculous statement, saying, “Modi is my aunt’s son, he will back down on my advice.” Political observers believe that this statement shows how low politics in Pakistan has reached. Pakistan is being embarrassed worldwide by making such statements about an international leader.
The legacy of political history and criticism of Marwat
Sher Afzal Khan Marwat was once an important leader of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. However, he repeatedly criticized Imran Khan after internal differences within the party, due to which he was expelled from the party. Given his statements, his political stability is also under question. Currently, they appear to depend on such controversial statements to maintain their existence.

India’s tough stand after terrorist attacks
Meanwhile, 26 tourists were killed in a fierce terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April. Indian intelligence agencies have concluded that Pakistan -backed terrorist organizations are behind it.
After the attack, India has taken a tough stand and has taken steps on three important fronts against Pakistan:
1. The 1960 Indus Water Treaty has been temporarily suspended, which will have a major impact on Pakistan’s water supply.
2. All goods, mail, parcels and shipping services coming from Pakistan have been stopped. Now no Pakistani ship will be able to enter Indian ports.
3. All Pakistani short -term visas have been canceled and the concerned citizens have been ordered to leave India.
India’s aggressive trend in directionless politics and Pakistan
Sher Afzal Khan Marwat’s statement about the war highlights the instability and lack of severity in Pakistani politics. Such evasive statements are further dropping Pakistan’s international reputation. In contrast, India has taken an aggressive and clear stand against terrorism, which is a message to the whole world that India will not accept any kind of agreement for its security.
