If there is a dispute, the software will stop the registry; the central government started digitizing the registry across the country 10 years ago | News India

New Delhi: The Land Resources Department of the Union Rural Development Ministry is working on a major plan to reduce land disputes and make the system transparent and easy. Under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP), the government is digitizing all registries up to 100 years ago across the country. This work is going on in most states. The government plans that after all land records are digitized and the processes are online, based on the consent of the states, they will be provided with software developed in collaboration with NIC, through which registration of any such land or property will not be possible. .There is a dispute.

The Modi government has been running DILRMP since its first term. Under these reform efforts, the Department of Land Resources has started the process of digitizing documents as well as bringing property registry into digital mode. An appeal has been made to all the states for this. After this, these registries are being scanned. Kunal Satyarthi, Joint Secretary, Department of Land Resources, said that the government's plan includes many points. Almost all the states have shown interest in these reform measures. Among these, Madhya Pradesh has done the best work in the transparent system of registry. A similar process has been adopted in Karnataka as well. He said that the government wants the scope of land-related disputes to be minimal. Also, to make the process corruption-free, all registries are being scanned and digitized like other land records. It may take two to three years to complete. Along with digitization of land records and registry, all states will also have to build modern record rooms at the tehsil level. The government wants the state governments to train the Patwaris in this regard. The joint secretary said that since land management is a state subject, only the central government can encourage them for these reforms. This is why the Centre has decided to give an incentive of Rs 100 crore each to the states that complete all the reformative works included in the DILRMP.

A unified platform for revenue courts will be created

The central government has extended the DILRMP till 2025-26 and has also included the Revenue Court Case Management System in this program. Under this, software will also be prepared for revenue courts. Along with digitization of registry and registration process including land records like Khasra, Khatauni, Map etc., there is a plan to provide software for revenue courts with the consent of the states. This will be a platform with the help of which old land related disputes going on in the revenue courts can also be resolved immediately.
