Tehran (Iran), 05 January: At least 19 civilians and one security personnel lost their lives during eight days of protests in Iran. There were demonstrations throughout the night at 222 places in the country. People have taken to the streets in 78 cities of 26 provinces. The movement against inflation has shaken the throne of the country’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The flames of unrest have reached the holy city of Qom. Khamenei can leave the country and go to Russia at any time.
This information has been given in the Iran International report quoting America’s Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) and The Times. According to reports, if unrest increases, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei may leave the country. If security forces fail to suppress the protests, he will flee to Moscow along with about 20 of his associates and family.
Clashes broke out between protesters and security forces in central Tehran on Sunday, the eighth day of protests. Security forces were deployed in large numbers in several parts of the capital to disperse the protesters. Security forces opened fire throughout the night during protests in various cities. Universities, markets and provincial cities remained centers of unrest. At least five protesters were killed and about 30 others were injured when security forces opened fire on them in the western city of Malekshahi on Saturday night.
The report quoted an intelligence input as saying that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has prepared a plan to flee Iran to Moscow along with 20 of his close associates and family. These also include his son and designated successor Mojtaba.
