Chandigarh, 16 October (HS). Former minister Anil Vij, who had staked claim to the post of Chief Minister during the assembly elections in Haryana, has come on the backfoot. Vij said that whatever responsibility the party gives him, he will accept it. Even if the party appoints him a peon at the gate, he is happy. BJP has given him a lot of respect.
On his earlier statement, Vij said that some people had spread the word about him that he did not want to become the Chief Minister. In response to which he said that he is a seven-time MLA, there is no objection if the party makes him the Chief Minister. Vij has said that he is a loyal worker of the party. Even if the party appoints him a peon at the gate, he is happy. BJP has given him a lot of respect.
Anil Vij was also with the BJP delegation who came to meet the Governor after the legislature party meeting. While talking to the media, Vij said that instructions had been issued to him from the party that he would approve the name of Naib Saini. The MLA wanted Naib Saini to become the Chief Minister. Following the orders of the high command, he approved the name of Naib Saini. Vij said that whatever he is is because of BJP. There is nothing for him above the party. He has always been loyal to the party. If the party wants, they can also appoint peons at the gate. He will perform that duty also with full hard work and honesty.
In fact, earlier during the assembly elections, Anil Vij had told his workers that after winning the elections, his next meeting would be at the Chief Minister's residence. Anil Vij has also publicly claimed in front of the media that after becoming MLA for the seventh time, he will stake his claim for the post of Chief Minister due to his seniority. It is the decision of the party high command to make him the Chief Minister or not. For the last two days, there was a strong discussion in the politics of Haryana that after Anil Vij's claim, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reached Chandigarh to ensure that no adverse situations arise in the party.
