If the army moves forward, even the bodies of the hostages will not be found, they will be riddled with bullets… Hamas' ultimatum to Israel

Israel-Hamas War: Hamas leaders have instructed their men to kill the hostages if they feel that the Israeli army is advancing. After this order, the already volatile situation has become even more serious. According to a report quoting Israeli officials, Hamas soldiers holding hostages in Gaza have been ordered to shoot the hostages if they feel that the Israeli army is advancing. Recently, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) rescued four hostages from Nusserat, Gaza. Israeli officials have denied Hamas' claim that three hostages were killed in Israeli air strikes. They say that Hamas terrorists are responsible for this death.

Israel has so far managed to rescue 7 hostages

Benjamin Netanyahu's government has been trying to locate and rescue more than 200 people since Hamas militants took them hostage following the October 7 attack on Israel. According to a report, a 'fusion cell' of US and Israeli intelligence and military analysts is using drones and satellites to monitor the hostages' movements. Israel has so far managed to rescue 7 hostages but many have been killed during the conflict or by the kidnappers.

UN ceasefire proposal

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday approved a US-drafted resolution supporting a ceasefire plan in Gaza. The draft, presented by US President Joe Biden, calls for a ceasefire and the release of hostages. It urges all parties involved to fully implement its terms without delay and unconditionally. The resolution states that Israel has agreed to the ceasefire plan and calls on Hamas to do the same. Hamas responded by saying it welcomes the UNSC vote. Yet the path to peace is fraught with challenges. Hamas officials have demanded that any ceasefire agreement guarantee a permanent end to the conflict.
