Drugs in Punjab: Any information against drug trafficking can now be given on toll free number 1933. It will work 24 hours. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched the National Narcotics Helpline 'MANS'. MANS stands for 'Narcotics Interdiction Information Centre' or Narcotics Interdiction Intelligence Centre.
Under this, a web portal and a mobile app have also been launched. On these you can report any drug-related crime and seek help in rehabilitation and counseling. All information in this will be kept confidential.
Shah said that the drug trade has now become linked to narco-terrorism. In the last ten years, 5,43,000 drugs worth Rs 22 thousand crores were recovered. Drug trafficking has now become a multi-dimensional crime, against which we all have to stand up.
The aim of all agencies, police should be not only to catch the drug users but also to destroy the entire network by catching the people involved in the drug trade.
The helpline number issued by the central government against drug abuse will be very useful. Wherever drugs are sold in your neighbourhood, village or locality, call the helpline number 1933 without any fear and give information. Your identity will be kept confidential.
