ICC can make changes in the rules of cricket: ICC may soon make some major changes regarding Test and One Day International cricket. ICC is planning to organize at least 3 Test match series in the next World Test Championship cycle to promote Test and ODI cricket. Apart from this, there is also talk of changing the rule of using two new balls for 25 overs in ODI cricket and then bowling the remaining 25 overs with the same ball. According to a report, ICC's Cricket Committee received many suggestions in the board meeting. For this reason, the Cricket Committee has recommended that the maximum number of day-night Test matches be organized in the next WTC cycle to promote Test cricket and the Test series under the WTC should be of at least 3 matches.
Some countries are not helpful in promoting test cricket
ICC sources said, 'Countries like South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka mostly play two-Test series. Only India, England and Australia play long Test series. Which does not help in promoting Test cricket. And the distribution of marks becomes very unfair. The recommendations are aimed at eliminating such inequalities.
Day-night test organized
Regarding the pink ball, sources said, 'The ICC committee believes that more people come to the stadium because of the Test matches played with the pink ball. Test playing countries should be encouraged to play Test matches with more pink balls than usual. Currently only Australia hosts day-night Tests. But not a single day-night test match has been played in India for two years.
