Ahmedabad, June 10 (HS). The state government has taken a big action and suspended IAS Ayush Oak in the land scam of about Rs 2000 crore in Dumas, Surat. He was currently working as Valsad Collector. While he was the collector of Surat, he was accused of land scam in Dumas, after which the Revenue Department was investigating it on its own initiative.
During the Lok Sabha elections, large scale transfers were made in the state. During this time, the then collector of Surat, Ayush Oak, was transferred to Valsad. Ayush Oak was accused of signing many controversial orders before his transfer. Ayush Oak was also accused of giving government land to builders. Later, an investigation was started on receiving a complaint in this matter.
According to the information, 2,17,216 square meter land with survey number 311/3 of Dumas village of Surat was registered as government non-fallow land since the year 1948-49. Despite being government land, the name of Krishnamukhlal Bhagwandas was registered as Ganotiya under note number 582 as its occupant. Government land cannot be included as Ganotiya, due to which this irregularity came to light. Apart from this, cases of tampering with the original documents in the case of other lands also came to light. His suspicious role came to light when he gave an order a day before the transfer in disputed land cases.
According to the information, this disputed land was also sold to many people from time to time. After this, the file was brought before the collector to make the land non-agricultural (NA). At this time, the investigation revealed that it cannot be NA due to being government land. Against this, a petition was filed in the Gujarat High Court in March 2009. The High Court had ordered an inquiry into whether the land was given to the farmer under Ganothdhara or not. The investigation revealed that the land is government land and a conspiracy has been done to divide it. The City Province gave a report on this overall issue in June 2015. Ignoring all these things, the then Surat Collector Ayush Oak gave the controversial order on January 29, 2024, a day before his transfer.
