'I made a mistake', Kejriwal apologizes to Supreme Court in defamation case

Arvind Kejriwal defamation case: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accepted his mistake during the hearing in the Supreme Court in the defamation case. A defamation case was filed against Kejriwal for reposting a YouTuber's video on social media platform 'X'. He has also appealed to the Supreme Court to cancel the case. The Supreme Court has ordered a stay on the proceedings of the lower court. The next hearing of this case will be on March 11.

In 2018, a defamation case was filed against Kejriwal for reposting a YouTube video on 'X'. In that video, derogatory things were said about a person named Vikas Sankrityayan. Delhi High Court refused to quash the case. The court said that a large number of people follow Kejriwal on the social media platform 'X'. He reposted the video on 'X' and reached millions of people without confirming the abusive votes cast against the complainant. After the High Court rejected his petition to quash the case, Kejriwal approached the Supreme Court.

Who is Prosecutor Vikas Sankrityayan?

The case was filed by Vikas Sankrityayan alias Vikas Pandey, who claims to be a supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is the founder of the social media page 'I Support Narendra Modi'. Kejriwal reposted the video 'BJP IT Sale Part 2' made by a YouTuber.
