Ranchi, 08 March (Hindus). A mass marriage was organized on Friday under the aegis of Shri Hanuman Club on Mahashivratri at Shri Shri Panchdev Temple in Bargai. In this, marriages of 10 couples took place. The groom's and bride's families were very excited for the marriage. At 10:30 am, a mass procession was taken out by the groom's side from the premises of Shri Shri Panchdev Temple, which reached Bargai Chowk and returned. After this, marriages took place after the varmala. The parents of all the girls performed Kanyadaan. The couples touched the feet of all the dignitaries present in the society and received blessings. After the meal, the girls were finally bid farewell along with their equipment.
Ashok Sahu, vice-chairman of the organizing committee of the mass marriage ceremony, said that this marriage ceremony was organized in the name of the deceased ancestors of the village. He said that the parents of all the 10 couples were from very poor families, who were unable to get their children married. He said that such people from the groom's and bride's side contacted him for marriage. Later the marriage was solemnized at an auspicious time. He said that he earns great virtue by helping poor couples.
