Hyundai Casper EV: Production ready Hyundai Casper EV seen during testing, will be launched in India too

Hyundai Casper EV seen: The production-spec model of the Hyundai Casper electric crossover was recently spotted testing in South Korea. It is based on the regular Casper ICE vehicle, which is very popular in the South Korean market. A slightly larger version may be available in India as the Exeter EV.

Hyundai Casper EV production-specific models

A production-spec model of the Casper EV was recently spotted testing and it resembles its ICE counterpart in most design details. Due to its attractive design, Casper has become a popular vehicle since its launch. At the front, the Adaptive Front Fascia has been retained with attractive LED DRLs and round projector headlights below them. The front grille features a new round element finished in silver. There is a covered patch, which is likely to house the charging port of the Hyundai Casper EV.

Its side profile is similar to the regular Casper, missing the bulky B-pillar glass area. It may have 17-inch wheels like the ICE Casper. The rear is completely similar to the ICE Hyundai Casper, but there is no exhaust.

Speciality

Depending on the market, Casper EV production-specific models get the ADAS suite. Other features include ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, automatic climate control, larger touchscreen infotainment screen compared to the 8-inch unit on the Casper ICE, integrated LED tail lights, rear disc brakes and more.

Exeter EV may arrive soon

The Hyundai Casper EV is likely to come with similar dimensions as the ICE Casper, measuring 3,595 mm in length, 1,595 mm in width and 1,605 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,400mm long. The Exeter EV coming to India is likely to get a longer wheelbase than the Casper. Both the Casper and Exeter are based on the same Hyundai-Kia K1 platform. It can achieve a range of about 300 km on a single charge. The electric car segment is continuously growing in India. Most of the EVs sold here are priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. Tata Tiago EV and Tigor EV, Citroen EC3, MG Comet and the recently launched Punch EV are present in this segment.
