Greater Noida, 06 December (Hindustan Reporter). The farmers’ agitation regarding their demands continued on Friday also. Today, a large number of women and farmers reached Pari Chowk to march to Delhi, but the police force deployed there arrested them and sent them to jail. During this period there was a scuffle between the women and the police. Farmers raised slogans against the police administration and the government.
Since this morning, leaders of the United Kisan Morcha have been calling on social media to continue the movement. They were calling for people to march to Delhi after reaching zero point. Due to this, a large number of police forces are deployed at the zero point of Yamuna Expressway. No one was allowed to go there. In the afternoon, under the leadership of farmer leader Sukhbir Khalifa, farmers along with women reached Pari Chowk shouting slogans. ADPC Ashok Kumar was already deployed at Pari Chowk with heavy police force. Police, PAC and RPF personnel surrounded the farmers and women and arrested them. The agitating farmers said that instead of considering their demands, the government is trying to suppress their movement. Work is being done to crush the farmers’ movement. The movement will continue until their demands are met.
During this time, with the help of women constables, the police detained more than 100 farmers including women and sent them to jail. Although the police released the women farmers after reaching the jail, the 42 male farmers accompanying them have been admitted to the jail. Where all the farmers have been kept in common barracks. At the same time, police officials said that the farmers who had come out from Zero Point towards Dalit Inspiration Place Noida for protesting without permission have been arrested.
It is noteworthy that farmers are protesting in Gautam Buddha Nagar on many issues including land acquisition. Farmers are demanding 10 percent population plot, increased compensation to 64.7 percent and implementation of the new land acquisition law.
