Huge quantity of weapons and explosives recovered from Manipur's border districts of Myanmar.

Imphal, 10 October (Hindustan Reporter). Amidst the violent activities in Manipur, intensive raids and search operations are being conducted across the state. During this period, security forces have recovered huge quantities of weapons and explosives from different places in the border districts of Myanmar.

Police said on Thursday that security forces conducted search operations in border and sensitive areas of the hill and valley districts. During this, the security forces seized two .32 pistols with magazine, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, two No. 36 hand grenades, two improvised 2” mortars, 32 live ammunition, 80 empty cases of ammunition, five tear gas shells. shells, two WP Green No.80 Mk 1, one rubber bullet shell, one smoke hand grenade and one arming ring and two radio wireless sets (Baofeng) recovered from Langol Hill, Luwangshangbam, Imphal East District.

During another search operation, security forces recovered one M-16 rifle without magazine, two SLRs without magazine, one .22 rifle without magazine, one country-made Sten gun without magazine, two carbines with five magazines, eight Recovered country made 9 mm pistols (3 of which without side handgrip), 30 magazines, 12 pieces 2″ mortar ILU bombs.

Apart from these, one SLR rifle, one modified .303 rifle with one magazine, one 9 mm pistol with one magazine, 16 live rounds of ammunition, five spent rounds of ammunition, one 36 hand pistol were recovered from Khelakhong in Imphal West district during the search operation. Grenades, two M67 hand grenades, one tube launcher, two tear smoke shells, two stun shells, one Motorola wireless handset, one charger and one sack bag were recovered.
