Imphal, May 20 (HS). The process of recovery of arms and ammunition continues in Manipur. In this connection, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered in the operation of joint security forces.
Manipur Police said on Monday that security forces conducted search operations in border and sensitive areas of hill and valley districts. During this, one 9 mm carbine machine gun with one magazine, one 9 mm pistol with one magazine, one .22 pistol with one magazine and seven live rounds of ammunition were recovered from IT Road, Kangpokpi District.
In another operation, security forces recovered arms and ammunition from Island village but seven miscreants escaped taking advantage of the crowd-like situation. The recovered weapons included one INSAS rifle 5.56 mm and one magazine, one INSAS LMG, one .303 rifle with magazine, one SBBL 12-bore gun, one binocular, one Khukri with cover, one 12-bore ammunition belt and 59 rounds. -There are gunpowder.
