Barabanki, 06 September (HS). On Haritalika Teej, a huge crowd of Shiva devotees gathered at Lodheshwar Mahadeva. By afternoon, more than one lakh devotees performed Jalabhishek, worshiped and prayed for the desired results. Since Thursday, Mahadeva city is resonating with the sound of Har Har Mahadev.
Till 12 noon on Friday, people were standing in line in the scorching sun to worship Lord Bholenath. The administration was fully alert. Two days ago, people were coming to Mahadeva to offer water to Lord Bholenath wearing yellow clothes and carrying Kaanwar on their shoulders. There was a huge crowd from the auditorium to Kesaripur mode. Extensive security arrangements were made by the administration. Hundreds of sanitation workers of Nagar Panchayat Ramnagar Vikaskhand Ramnagar and Suratganj were engaged in cleaning arrangements in the fair premises. Additional Superintendent of Police CL Sinha himself took charge of the security arrangements. SDM Pawan Kumar, CO Alok Pathak kept reviewing the security arrangements of the fair area. Police station in-charge Ratnesh Pandey, outpost in-charge Mahadeva Santosh Tripathi took care of the security arrangements inside the temple.
Apart from this, four magistrates and four police circle officers were keeping an eye on security and law and order. 12 SHOs, 14 inspectors, 140 sub-inspectors, 9 lady sub-inspectors, 380 head constables and constables, 30 traffic police, 140 home guards along with one company PAC were on alert for security arrangements. 45 CCTV cameras were installed in the entire fair premises. Water police and half a dozen divers were deployed at Abharan Sarovar with motor boards. Police personnel in plain clothes were keeping an eye on thieves and anti-social elements. The sequence of Jalabhishek was continuing and would continue till late night.
