The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy rain, cold, thunderstorm, and snowfall in many parts of the country. December 27 and 28: Alert of thunderstorm, rain, and hailstorm

According to the Meteorological Department, on December 27 and 28, there may be heavy rain and thunderstorm along with hailstorm in many parts of the country.

  • Madhya Pradesh (south-eastern part)
  • Himachal Pradesh
  • Uttarakhand
  • Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi
  • Uttar Pradesh
  • Eastern Rajasthan
  • Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra, and Marathwada
  • Gujarat region

There is also a possibility of strong winds and hailstorm in these states. Particularly heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and West Madhya Pradesh.

December 28: Severe cold and cold day expected

Cold may be at its peak on 28th December.

  • Himachal Pradesh

There is a possibility of dense fog in some parts of Rajasthan. At the same time, along with cold in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, there may be snowfall in high altitude areas.

December 29: Dense fog and effect of cold wave

Dense to extremely dense fog conditions may prevail over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and many parts of Northeast India on December 29.

Cold wave conditions may be severe in Himachal Pradesh on this day, and there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in Sikkim.

30 and 31 December: Dense fog and cold wave

The last two days of the year will also be spent with severe cold and dense fog.
