In Hindu religion, the holy festival of Shardiya and Chaitra Navratri is considered to be the biggest and sacred festival of worship of Mother Durga, in which there is a special provision of continuous worship and fasting for nine days. Due to the modern hectic pace of life and excessive office work pressure, millions of people face the big problem of how to find time for prayers and rituals that last for hours in the morning. If you too are short of time and are worried that due to your busy schedule you will not be able to perform Navratri puja and Kalash installation properly, then you do not need to worry at all. Our religious scriptures and experienced acharyas have a clear opinion that God is never hungry for show or elaborate ostentation, rather he only accepts worship done with true heart, devotion and emotion. If you are also struggling with shortage of time, then by adopting some simple, practical and scripture-based methods, you can easily establish the Kalash and complete the ritual worship of Maa Durga at your home, so that you can get the virtues and blessings of the mother for the entire nine days.
The simplest and briefest method for establishing Kalash in less time
Ghatasthapana or Kalash Sthapana on the first day of Navratri has special significance, which is usually done at a certain auspicious time and requires a number of materials. If you are in a hurry to go to office in the morning or are short on time, you can perform Kalash Sthapana with a short but completely pure method. For this, first of all clean the place of worship thoroughly, spread a red cloth on a wooden platform and install a picture or idol of Maa Durga. Now fill a copper or clay urn with pure water, add a little Ganga water, a coin, betel nut and durva, and place five mango or ashoka leaves on the mouth of the urn and wrap it in a red coconut cloth. Make a heap of some rice or wheat under the Kalash and install it and invoking the Mother with a true heart, take water in hand and take a pledge to fast or worship. This entire process can be completed in just 10 to 15 minutes, provided you have unwavering faith and complete purity in your mind, because God needs your dedication and not a long process.
Easy nine days puja routine and time management for working people
People who are busy with job or business all day and are able to spare barely half an hour in the morning or evening for puja, should keep their daily puja sequence very brief and effective. After taking bath in the morning, light a ghee lamp in the name of the Mother in the temple of the house, offer fresh flowers and incense to the Mother, and do the Durga Chalisa by mentally chanting the mantra ‘Om Ain Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vicchai’. If you do not get time at all in the morning, then after returning home in the evening, you can take bath and perform the Aarti of the Mother Goddess with a calm mind and offer her fruits or sweets. According to the scriptures, even if you are not able to do elaborate puja in the morning and evening for nine days continuously, then just lighting a lamp in the morning and remembering Mother Goddess before going to work does not break your fast and the nine days of sadhana. It is not important how many hours you sit in front of the puja platform, but what is important is how much respect, integrity and service you have towards the Mother.
Mother is pleased even by mental chanting and simple enjoyment, know what is the main essence
Often people have this misconception in their minds that if they do not prepare expensive dishes or Chhappan Bhog from the market or do not perform any big ritual, then Maa Durga will get angry, whereas the truth is exactly the opposite. Mother Shakti sees only the true devotion and compassion of her devotees, and if you offer her a pot of water, a red flower and even a little sweet offering with devotion, she becomes pleased. On days when you are in office or travelling, you can keep chanting mother’s name in your mind, which is called mental chanting and its virtue has been considered manifold. During these holy days of Navratri, respect the elders of your house, feed the hungry and maintain positivity around you, because this is true worship. Therefore, do not make lack of time an excuse for your weakness or not being able to worship, rather make your life happy and auspicious by worshiping Mother Goddess in simple ways.
