How to make nutritious masala khichdi in Kathiyawadi style | News India


Masala Khichdi Recipe: Masala Khichdi is a delicious and nutritious Indian dish made from rice, lentils and spices. Here we will tell you an easy recipe of Masala Khichdi. Eating Khichdi in Kathiawar style is a different pleasure.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup lentils (moong dal or tuvar dal)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste

How to make Masala Khichdi

1). Wash the rice and dal and soak them in water.
2) – Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
3).Add onion and garlic and sauté until golden.
4). Add ginger paste and mix.
5).Add rice and dal and mix well after adding spices.
6).Add water and cook on low flame.
7). Add salt, garam malaso, garam masala. Once cooked properly, serve hot.

Tips ,

  • It can also be made by boiling rice and lentils first.
  • You can take more or less spices according to your taste.
  • Mix the spices and serve with curd or raita.
