According to the information given by the Railway Ministry, this year a total of 11,72,240 railway employees will be given a bonus of 78 days. This is Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB), which will be given to employees on the basis of productivity. The Railway Ministry will distribute a total bonus of Rs 2029 crore among its 11.72 lakh employees of various categories.
When will the bonus money come into the accounts of railway employees?
The Railway Ministry usually pays bonuses to its employees before Diwali. Railway employees are given the bonus just before the holiday of Durga Puja or Dussehra. Like every time, this time too the Railway Ministry will pay bonus to its employees before the Durga Puja/Dussehra holiday.
How much bonus will the employees get?
According to the Railway Ministry, a maximum of Rs 17,951 will be paid to the employees as bonus. This means that railway employees will get a maximum of Rs 17,951 as bonus. All railway employees, irrespective of the post they hold, are given the same bonus.
North Western Railway employees have received bonus
North Western Railway (NWR) Chief Public Relations Officer Captain Shashi Kiran said the bonus was paid to the employees immediately after the cabinet announcement. North Western Railway has paid its 46,087 non-gazetted employees a total of Rs. Rs 78.19 crore was paid as bonus.
