There will be a meeting between the board and the franchise on July 31
According to a report, there will be a meeting between BCCI and IPL franchises on July 31. However, it has not been decided yet where this meeting will take place. But according to reports, this meeting can be held at the BCCI headquarters located at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. According to the report, IPL CEO Hemang Amin has also sent an invitation to all the franchise owners for the meeting.
A decision will be taken regarding retention
There is still no clarity on how many players the franchise will be able to retain before the IPL mega auction. A decision on this matter can be taken in a meeting between the franchise and the board. Actually, some IPL franchises ask for permission to retain 8 players. BCCI does not want to give this permission to the franchise.
If the board gives this permission to all the teams, then a total of 80 players including foreign and Indian players will remain intact and will not participate in the mega auction of IPL-2025. In such a situation, the excitement of the auction can be reduced considerably. Keeping this in mind, the board can allow each franchise to retain 4 to 5 players.
