The Oscar Awards are organized by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). Let us tell you that any film has to go through many special processes to get nominated for the Oscar Awards. These processes have many stages and rules, keeping which in mind a film is nominated.
Actually, AMPAS, the body that takes decisions for Oscar awards, has more than 10,000 members. These members are divided into various sections like directors, actors, writers, cinematographers etc. Each member evaluates films according to his section.
Apart from this, the film has to follow certain rules to get entry in the Oscars. For example, a film must be at least 40 minutes long to be classified as a feature film. In addition, the film must run for at least seven days in theaters in Los Angeles County.
The film director has to officially submit his film for the Oscars. Actually, the filmmakers fill out an application form on the Academy's portal, in which all the information related to the film has to be given. Along with this, the film was also screened in front of the Academy members to nominate the film for the Oscars.
During the screening, the film's story, acting, direction, cinematography and other technical aspects are evaluated. After this, the Academy members nominate films in various categories through voting, then after the voting process is over, AMPAS prepares the list of nominated films. After this, the list is publicly announced by the Academy.
