Horrific road accident in Karauli, 5 killed, 15 injured

A tragic road accident took place in Karauli, Rajasthan on Tuesday night, in which there was a head-on collision between a private bus and a Swift Dezire car. 5 people died in this accident, while 15 people were injured. The condition of many of the injured is said to be critical. The collision was so severe that the car was blown to pieces.

According to the police, this accident happened near Salempur village.

  • The people in the car were returning after visiting Kailadevi.
  • At 6:46 pm, a private bus coming towards Karauli hit the car hard.
  • Immediately after the accident, with the help of local people and police, the injured were admitted to Gangapur City Hospital.

5 people died in the accident

Four people died on the spot, while one person died in the hospital.

  • All the deceased were originally residents of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
  • He was living in Vadodara, Gujarat for some time.

Treatment of the injured persons is continuing at Gangapur City Hospital. 10 people have been discharged after initial treatment.

  • On receiving information about the accident, District Collector Neelabh Saxena and Deputy Superintendent of Police Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay reached the spot.
  • Police have started investigation at the spot and local people are being interrogated.

This accident created chaos in the area. Police said that speeding could be the reason for the accident. Brijraj Sharma, in-charge, Karauli District Hospital police post, said that the people in the car were returning after visiting Kailadevi, when the incident occurred.
