At least 21 people have been killed and 38 others injured in a road accident in southern Afghanistan. A statement from the department in Helmand said the accident occurred Sunday morning in the Gerask district of Helmand province on the main highway between southern Kandahar and western Herat provinces.
Kadartullah, a traffic official in Helmand, said a motorcycle collided with a passenger bus, which then collided with a fuel tank on the opposite side of the road. He said that the accident is being investigated.
