Horrific bus accident in Almora, 38 killed, everyone including President-Prime Minister expressed grief, compensation announced, magistrate inquiry ordered

Dehradun, 04 November (HS). President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, senior politicians including many Union Ministers have expressed deep grief over the bus accident that took place this morning in Marchula near Ramnagar in Almora district of Uttarakhand. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi has announced an assistance amount of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF to the families of the deceased in this accident, Rs 1 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50 thousand to the comparatively less injured.

President Draupadi Murmu has written on social media that the news of death of many people including women and children in a road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand is heart-wrenching. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written on social media X that my condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand. Along with this, I wish speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is making every possible effort for relief and rescue.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has written on Twitter that the bus accident in Almora, Uttarakhand is extremely sad. I express my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. The local administration is providing prompt treatment to the injured. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Governor and Chief Minister expressed grief

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the victims of the Almora bus accident. Chief Minister Dhami has announced an assistance amount of Rs 4 lakh each to the dependents of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh each to the injured.

38 passengers died in bus accident, ARTO suspended, Baitai Magistrate investigation

A total of 38 passengers have died so far in the bus accident in Almora while 24 passengers are injured. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals. The seriously injured have been sent to AIIMS (Rishikesh). Relief and rescue work is going on continuously. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is keeping an eye on the relief and rescue work. There has been a stir in the police-administration and transport department regarding the accident. The health department is on alert mode. The cause of the accident is said to be overloading. It was a 42 seater bus, in which there were around 60 passengers. Due to the completion of Diwali festival, the number of passengers was high. Due to this, Chief Minister Dhami took action and ordered the immediate suspension of the concerned Deputy Regional Transport Officer (ARTO). It has also been announced that a magistrate will investigate this accident.
