Two separate criminal incidents that took place in the capital Ranchi and industrial district Seraikela Kharsawan have created a sensation in the entire state. On one hand, in Seraikela Kharsawan, fearless criminals attacked a woman with a knife and seriously injured her, while on the other hand, due to a family dispute in the capital Ranchi, a man brutally murdered his own wife and mother-in-law. There is an atmosphere of panic in the area after these two gruesome incidents. Here, unknown criminals attacked a woman several times with a sharp knife. The blood soaked woman kept screaming, but by the time the local people reached the spot, the attackers had fled from the spot after committing the crime. With the help of local people, the seriously injured woman was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where in view of her critical condition, after first aid, she was referred to Sadar Hospital for better treatment. Both the women died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. After committing the incident, the accused fled from the spot, in search of whom the police is raiding possible places.
These two sensational incidents that took place in major districts like Ranchi and Seraikela Kharsawan on the same day have once again raised a big question mark on the law and order and women’s safety of the state. After the knife attack on a woman in broad daylight in Seraikela and the double murder in Ranchi, there is immense anger and fear among common citizens. Local public representatives and social organizations have demanded justice for the victims’ families and have demanded the culprits be arrested as soon as possible and given the harshest punishment under speedy trial.
Considering the sensitivity of the incidents, senior police officers of the concerned districts have themselves taken charge. Ranchi Superintendent of Police said that the accused in the double murder has been identified and a Special Task Force (STF) has been formed for his arrest. Seraikela Kharsawan Police has deployed Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and dog squad to inspect the incident site so that fingerprints and other technical evidence of the criminals can be collected. The police administration has claimed that with the help of CCTV footage and surveillance, the culprits in both the cases will soon be sent behind the bars.
