Honor ceremony of science and social harmony in memory of Guruji Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar

Kolkata, 18 November (HS). In memory of the second Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, respected Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar ‘Guruji’, a grand felicitation ceremony was organized by Bharatiya Gurukulam at IIEST Institute, Shivpur, Howrah with the aim of promoting science and social harmony. In this program, individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of science and society were honored.

The ceremony was inaugurated by IIEST Director Prof. VM SR Murthy along with the guests lit the lamp and offered flowers to the images of Dr. Hedgewar and Guruji. On this occasion, the chief guest, All India Organization Minister of Vigyan Bharti, Dr. Shivkumar Sharma, the keynote speaker, Dr. Somdev Bhardwaj and the president of the function, former area union leader, Dr. Jayant Rai Chaudhary threw light on the life of Guruji and his inspirational contribution.

Guruji, through his ascetic life and spiritual practice, inspired the volunteers to make the nation prosperous. After taking initiation from Swami Akhandanand, a disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahansa, he worked for social service and strengthening the organization through spiritual practice.

During the ceremony, Director of IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Virendra Kumar Tiwari was honored for his scientific contributions and management skills. He was awarded an honorarium of Rs 1 lakh, shawl, quince and a memento.

Along with this, former Principal Scientist of IVRI Kalyani, who has contributed towards agriculture, animal husbandry and rural development, Prof. Rash Bihari Bhad, Dr. Achintya Mitra, Assistant Director of RARI Gangtok for providing medical services during the Corona period through Ayurveda, and Prof. Director of NIT Durgapur for the development of agriculturally useful app. Arvind Choubey was presented with a shawl and memento along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Gurukulam Megha Samman and Cultural Presentation

At the function, gold medalist Aishani Sen Dutta of Bankura University was awarded ‘Gurukulam Megha Samman’ for her outstanding achievement in political science. At the same time, Mrs. Deepali Kulkarni made the function more attractive by presenting Ram devotional hymns.

The program was conducted by Prof. of Salt Lake NIH. Dr. Shishir Singh did it, while the welcome address was given by Gurukulam Vice President Umesh Rai. Dr. Anand Pandey, President of Bharatiya Gurukulam shared the introduction and objective of the function.

This event was a unique effort to bring alive Guruji’s thoughts and encourage those who have contributed in the field of science and social harmony.
