According to legend, Holika and Ilogi loved each other very much. Holika and Ilogi decide to convert their love life into married life. The auspicious time for the marriage of Holika and Ilogi was on the night of Phalgun Purnima. Here, troubled by devotee Prahlad's devotion to Shri Hari, his father Hiranyakashipu decided to sacrifice his son devotee Prahlad. Hiranyakashipu's sister Holika had a boon that Holika would not be able to burn in fire.
