Holidays for schools up to class 8 in Meerut due to extreme heat

Meerut, 20 May (HS). People are suffering badly due to the scorching heat in Meerut. To protect children from heat and sunstroke, the district administration has declared holiday in schools up to class eight from May 21 to May 25.

Everyone is worried about the scorching heat these days. Children have to face the heat and heat while going to school. In view of this, District Magistrate Deepak Meena has ordered the closure of all educational institutions up to class eight including CBSE, ICSE, UP Board from May 21. Schools up to class eight in Meerut will remain closed till May 25. Some schools have already declared summer holidays.

The temperature in Meerut has reached 43 percent. Due to the scorching heat, very few people are coming out on the streets. Markets are also closing in the afternoon. Dr. UP Shahi, scientist of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, said that people will not get any respite from the scorching heat right now. The temperature will increase for the next five days. Due to the hot winds coming from Rajasthan, the heat is increasing in western Uttar Pradesh.

Doctors have also advised people to be careful amid the scorching heat and heat wave. According to Dr. Vishwajit Bambi, senior doctor of Nutima Hospital, people should leave their homes only when necessary in the scorching heat. People should keep drinking water continuously. Avoid eating stale food. In case of even the slightest problem, consult a doctor.
