Holidays extended in schools of this state due to rising temperature

School holidays extended: Since summer has started, the temperature is continuously increasing every day. All the students are eagerly waiting for the summer holidays. During summer vacations, students get time off from school due to rising temperatures. Usually these holidays last for a month. During these holidays students can develop new skills or go on a trip. During summer vacation, students will also get time to prepare for their upcoming examinations. Schools will remain closed in Delhi in May and June.

Since the heat wave has started in Delhi in April itself, the government has announced the holiday schedule for the upcoming summer vacation. According to Delhi School Calendar 2024, summer vacations will be between May 11 and June 30, 2024. This year, students in Delhi will get one month and 19 days of summer holidays. This is mainly to deal with rising temperatures. Projects and assignments will also be given to students during this break. According to reports, Delhi schools will remain open for 220 days in 2024. The Delhi Directorate of Education (DOE) has directed all schools to ensure that studies are conducted for the full 220 days and plan holidays accordingly.

Delhi authorities have also announced the official schedule for holidays from April to December. Schools will remain officially closed during these days. So let's take a look at the official holidays from April to December:

7. August 26, 2024: Janmashtami

8. 16 September 2024: Eid-e-Milad

9. October 02, 2024: Gandhi Jayanti (National Holiday)

10. 12 October 2024: Dussehra

11. 17 October 2024: Valmiki Jayanti

12. 31 October 2024: Diwali

13. 15 November 2024: Guru Nanak Jayanti

14. 25 December 2024: Christmas
