Holiday has been declared in schools on Hariyali Teej. Haryana Directorate of School Education has issued a letter declaring local holiday on Hariyali Teej. Instructions have been given that the local holiday falling on 6th August will be on 7th August. In such a situation, regular classes will be held in all the schools of the state on 6th September.
The department has issued a letter to the SCERT director, all the DEOs, DEEOs, Block Education Officers and Block Primary Education Officers of the state. The letter issued on January 25 has been mentioned.
In the letter issued on January 25, a local holiday was mentioned on August 6 on the occasion of Hariyali Teej. But now the department has issued a letter that there will be a local holiday on August 7. Also, the officials of the education department have been instructed to inform all the schools in their area about this, so the holiday for Hariyali Teej has been declared on August 7 instead of August 6. Although Teej is celebrated with great pomp in Punjab too, but no holiday has been announced on the occasion of Hariyali Teej.
The tea festival has a special significance in the rich culture of Punjab, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the month of Sawan. Earlier on this occasion, parents used to give gifts to their daughters, which has almost disappeared nowadays due to inflation and lack of time. Nowadays this festival is rarely seen in the villages and now this festival is celebrated only in schools and colleges. In today's time, we need to preserve our disappearing background so that our rich heritage can survive.
