Holashtak will start from Sunday, there will be a 'break' of eight days on auspicious works – News India Live

Moradabad, March 16 (HS). Famous astrologer Pandit Surendra Kumar Sharma, director of Shri Hari Astrology Institute, Linepar, Moradabad, said that Holashtak will start from Sunday, March 17. In such a situation, no auspicious work will be done for eight days. Holashtak will end with Holi on March 24.

Pandit Surendra Sharma further told that the month of Phalgun started from 25th February and will end with Holi on 24th March. Holashtak falls on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month, 8 days before Holi. This time Holashtak will start from Sunday 17th March. Doing any auspicious work is prohibited during Holashtak. During these 8 days of Holakashtak, no marriage, tonsure, new business or new work is started.

He further told that Holi is lit on the day of Phalgun Purnima and on the next day, Holi of colors is played on Krishna Paksha Chaitra Pratipada. Holi this year will be lit on the night of 24th March and colors will be played on the morning of 25th March.

Worship Lord Vishnu and your family deities

Pandit Surendra Sharma told that during Holashtak, performing puja and chanting penance has special significance. During this time, one should worship Lord Vishnu and one's family deities. Doing this brings happiness and peace in your home. During Holashtak, there is special importance of helping poor and needy people and children should be given love. He said that Holashtak was the period when devotee Prahlad was tortured by his father Hiranyakashyap. Therefore, during this period we should respect elders and love children. During the daily worship of Holashtak, one should apply Abeer and Gulal to Lord Vishnu and Ram Krishna, their favorite deity and Gurudev and reciting Shri Sukta and Gajendra Moksha is considered very auspicious and fruitful.
