Hockey India's initiative, players will now be able to get digital ID cards

New Delhi, July 6 (HS). Taking a significant step towards e-governance, Hockey India has launched a pioneering initiative that allows players to download their ID cards directly from the portal of the member units. This development makes Hockey India one of the first sports federations in India to implement such a digital system similar to the Aadhar card model.

According to the official release from Hockey India, this new system includes several key features, including a streamlined process and convenience right from registration to ID card receipt.

The registration and approval process includes player registration on the Member Unit Portal, submission of all required personal details and documents, review of the profile by the Member Unit, submission of the approved profile to Hockey India, final review and approval by Hockey India, and finally, the facility for players to download their digital ID card directly by entering their details on the Member Unit Portal.

This digital transformation simplifies the process of issuing ID cards, which will increase efficiency and accessibility for hockey players across India. This is a significant step in Hockey India's commitment to modernise sports administration through technology.

Speaking on the development, Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey said, “We are very proud to introduce digital player ID cards, similar to the Aadhaar card model, a great initiative that positions Hockey India at the forefront of sports administration in the country. This move not only streamlines the process of obtaining ID cards for our players, but also enhances accessibility and convenience to a great extent. Our commitment to leveraging technology to modernise and simplify administrative processes is unwavering, and this is a big step in that direction.”

Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh said, “The launch of the digital Player ID Card is a testament to Hockey India’s dedication to innovation and efficiency. By adopting this digital system, we are making it easier for players across India to access their ID Cards quickly and securely. This initiative reflects our continued efforts to improve the experience of our athletes and support staff, ensuring they have the best resources available.”
