The Central Government has taken a huge and historic step towards promoting self-reliance in the national security and defense sector. Huge defense procurement proposals worth about Rs 1.10 lakh crore for the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force have been formally approved in the high-level meeting of the Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) held on Monday under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. #Army will get CBRN Recei vehicles and modern high mobility vehicles

Procurement of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Receipt vehicles has been specifically approved for the Army which will play an extremely important role in providing accurate detection, immediate identification, continuous surveillance and protection of troops in any potentially chemical, biological or nuclear contaminated area. Along with this, approval has also been given to purchase of trawl tanks and omnibus bridge systems to cross various rivers, ravines or difficult terrains during the war.
