The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a very revolutionary and big step towards making the weakest women of the state and those left behind from the mainstream of society self-reliant and safe. Following the strict and clear instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the UP government has now come up with a mega-welfare scheme to provide a dignified life to women who are victims of Triple Talaq, Acid Attack Survivors and women living destitute or abandoned lives in the society. Under this historic initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government is not only going to provide permanent houses to these victimized women to live in, but is also going to ensure complete arrangements for free and world-class health treatment for them and their families.

Three categories of women will get priority, not only financial help but will also get long term support.

According to information received from senior administrative officials of the state, under this special government campaign, women of Uttar Pradesh will be divided into three main categories and benefited on priority basis. This includes, first of all, Muslim women who are legally and socially affected by triple talaq, second category of brave daughters who have suffered the brunt of horrific acid attacks and third category of destitute or abandoned women who have been abandoned by the society. The main objective of this major decision of the government is to ensure that these three victim groups can get safe permanent housing, excellent health services and a strong social security cover without any administrative hurdles. The officials have clearly clarified that this scheme is not limited to just providing immediate financial assistance of a few rupees, but its real focus is to provide women with safe houses and opportunities to live a dignified, independent and stable life in the society.

Following the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Department of Women and Child Development of Uttar Pradesh has come into full action mode to implement this mega-plan with full authenticity on the ground. The government has started a huge data collection and verification campaign to identify genuine and eligible beneficiaries across the state. Under this campaign, all the eligible women identified will be allotted permanent houses under the most popular housing schemes of the Central and State Government i.e. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Chief Minister Awas Yojana. Along with this, for the treatment of most serious diseases, these women will be given direct benefit of free health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Various departments of the government are working together so that no needy woman is deprived of the benefits of this scheme due to paperwork deficiencies.

Strict instructions from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath: There will be no compromise on the quality and timeline of development works.

Along with the announcement of this big welfare scheme, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also made his zero tolerance policy clear regarding other development works going on in the state. While holding a high-level review meeting of the new action plan of the Public Works Department (PWD) for the year 2026-27, the Chief Minister held an important dialogue with all the District Magistrates (DMs), Cabinet Ministers and local public representatives of the state. CM Yogi directed in a strict tone that not even an iota of compromise will be tolerated with the quality, standards and deadlines of any development project going on in the state. He ordered all the District Magistrates to hold frequent meetings with the elected public representatives (MPs and MLAs) of their respective areas and send proposals for development schemes based on the actual needs of the local people directly to the government within a week so that final approval of all the budgets and action plans can be given by the first fortnight of June. The Chief Minister said in blunt words that the public representatives will not have to bear the brunt of the negligence of any government official or contractor, and in case of delay in work, strictest action will be taken directly against the senior officers of the concerned department.
