Hisar, August 30 (HS). Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsiram Bishnoi has said that sports have a bright future along with mental and physical development. Sports spread positive energy and develop a sense of leadership in players.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi was addressing the players present on the occasion of National Sports Day on the occasion of Major Dhyan Chand's birthday, courtesy of Sports Directorate, on Friday. Every year different sports activities are organized in the university on the occasion of National Sports Day. This time a basketball competition was organized in the university. Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi inaugurated the competition as the chief guest. Registrar Prof. Vinod Chhokar was present as the special guest on this occasion while Dean of Sports Directorate Prof. Dalbir Singh presided over the event.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsiram Bishnoi said that today is the day to pay tribute to that great personality in whose name the sports culture started. He said that students must participate in some sport or other activity. The Vice Chancellor also took the introduction of the players and wished them a bright future. Registrar Prof. Vinod Chhokar said that in the present times, the trend towards sports is increasing. The university administration is committed to providing sports facilities to the players.
Dean of Sports Directorate Prof. Dalbir Singh said that student players from various departments of the university participated in the basketball competition organized on this occasion. In this competition, team A won by six points over team B. On this occasion, Sports Director Dr. SB Luthra, Assistant Sports Director Mrinalini Nehra, Coach Vinod Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Ajay Lamba, Vikas Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Praveen Bura and Bimla Devi were present.
