The research work done by the departments has led to the development of technologies for the management of plant parasitic nematodes in rice, wheat, poly house (tomato, cucumber, capsicum), mushroom, fruits and vegetable crops. The department is continuously organizing Nematode Awareness Day to make farmers aware about nematode problems. Several nematode management trainings have also been conducted in farmers’ fields to show the nematode problems and the impact of its management. Poly houses are being given priority in management trials.
He pointed out that the importance of regular management cannot be underestimated. By identifying regular species and understanding their impact on crops, we can adopt integrated management practices that reduce dependence on harmful chemicals and use eco-friendly alternatives.
