Hisar: Rs 7.5 lakh recovered from accused in Rs 1.34 crore fraud case | News India

Hisar, September 7 (HS). Police has recovered Rs 7.5 lakh from five accused arrested in the case of tax fraud of Rs 1.34 crore from a city doctor. Police has taken three of the five arrested accused on remand for further interrogation while two have been sent to judicial custody. Meanwhile, police has cautioned citizens not to give money to any blackmailer in this manner because giving money once does not stop his blackmailing.

According to the police, five accused were arrested in the case of cheating a city doctor of 1.34 crores. After interrogation, 7.5 lakhs have been recovered from these accused so far. The five arrested accused include Moorsaleem, Haider, Adil, Shahid and Jaiguna, residents of Paldi in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. Investigating officer ASI Rajaram said that a complaint was received in Cyber ​​Police Station Hisar about cheating of 1 crore 34 lakh 75 thousand rupees from an elderly person of Hisar through NCCRP portal.

The complainant told that some people trapped her by making a nude video call on WhatsApp. Then she was threatened by posing as fake CBI and YouTube officials and was duped of Rs 1 crore 34 lakh 75 thousand by threatening to close the case, arrest and death penalty if the girl commits suicide. Police registered a case in Cyber ​​Police Station on the complaint given and after investigation arrested the above five accused. Police has recovered Rs 7.5 lakh from the accused so far. Accused Adil and Jaiguna were sent to judicial custody after interrogation, while Mursalim, Haider and Shahid have been taken on police remand. Investigation of the case is going on.

Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan has made citizens aware that cyber criminals have come up with new tricks in their latest technique of committing fraud, such as 'nude video call' through which they target people on social media platforms like WhatsApp and other video call-enabled platforms. These fraudsters make video calls on random numbers in which a nude woman chats with the targeted person.

The Superintendent of Police said that people need to be cautious while using online platforms and use privacy features to avoid getting caught in the trap of online criminals. Never make the mistake of paying money out of fear of such blackmailing because once you pay money, they will not leave you alone. These blackmailers ask for money from you again and again.
