Hisar, 19 August (HS). The roof of a house in Khandakhedi village of Narnaund area suddenly collapsed. The family members sleeping inside the house had a narrow escape. Hearing the sound of the roof collapse, the villagers also reached there. The police has been informed about this. The victim's family has appealed to the government for compensation.
Saroj Bala, a resident of Khandakhedi, said that her husband Satish has died. She has two sons. The livelihood of the house is managed with great difficulty. It had rained two days ago and the roof of the house suddenly collapsed on Sunday night due to the rain. She and her sons were sleeping in the verandah to protect themselves from the heat. If they had been inside the room, it would have been a big accident. Hearing the sound of the roof of the house falling, the neighbors also came there and with their help some important items of the house were taken out. The gas cylinder and stove also got buried in the mud due to the roof falling. The whole family filled their stomachs by eating food at the neighbors' house. We have appealed to the government and administration officials to help us and give us proper compensation so that we can put a roof over our children's heads. In this rainy season, the roof has been snatched from our heads.
