Hisar: Police becomes active in view of assembly elections, special monitoring on social media | News India

Hisar, 28 August (HS). Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan has instructed the police station managers to identify those who create any kind of disturbance, hooliganism, break peace, fight, riot during the elections and take strict action against them. He also instructed the police station managers to get the licensed weapons of their areas deposited immediately.

Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan was holding a meeting of supervisory officers and police station managers on Wednesday. He said that licensed weapon holders should deposit their weapons in their nearest police station or gun house without any delay. He also ordered all police station and outpost in-charges to ensure that all those who have licensed weapons in their respective areas deposit their weapons in the police station or gun house. The deposit slip of the weapons deposited in the gun house should be deposited in the police station. Action should be taken against those who do not deposit their weapons.

The Superintendent of Police, while directing the police station managers, said that the persons involved in anti-social activities and history-sheeters in the district should be restricted and their activities should be kept under surveillance. If anyone tries to influence the elections in any way, then strict action should be taken against him. Under the campaign launched for the arrest of POs and bail jumpers, arrest them and serve non-bailable warrants. Deploy adequate police force at the checkpoints set up in your respective areas and brief them about the thorough checking of every vehicle. Get reflector tapes installed on the barricades installed at the checkpoints. He said that action should be taken against those dealing in illegal arms, illicit liquor and narcotics in the district.

He has said that if any information of disturbance is received anywhere in the district, the concerned police station in-charge should immediately reach the spot. The Superintendent of Police said that spreading rumors by posting objectionable, provocative and related to religious hatred/disturbing communal harmony on any social media is a punishable offense. Police is monitoring various social media platforms. Strict action will be taken against the people spreading rumors on social media. The general public should not forward any message/photo or video to any other person without checking it. Hisar Police will take action against the people sharing such messages, photos, video posts.
