Hisar, March 29 (Hissar). Aam Aadmi Party's youth district president Virendra Narwal has expressed strong objection to increasing toll rates from April 1. He said that this decision of the National Highway Authority is arbitrary and burdensome on the public. Virendra Narwal, reacting on the increase in toll rates, said on Friday that the National Highway Authority has announced to increase the rates of all tolls from April 1.
He said that this is a decision which is not acceptable to anyone. All the highways are already built and regular toll is also being collected on them. In such a situation, what has happened now that toll rates have to be increased. He said that although it is unreasonable to impose toll tax, now toll is levied in such a situation where a road is newly constructed. There is no such thing in this and the toll already being collected is being increased, which is a decision that will put a burden on the public's pocket.
Virendra Narwal said that all this is happening at the behest of the Central Government. The central government is bent on sucking the blood of the public from all sides. He said that these toll rates are being increased at a time when elections are about to be held in the country, there has been no increase in safety measures on the highways. According to the latest decision, toll rates will increase by Rs 5 to 20 from April 1. Apart from this, monthly pass will also become expensive. He said that the Central Government should issue instructions and withdraw these increased rates.
