Hisar, 25 August (HS). The grand festival of Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp in Maharaja Agrasen Bhawan under the aegis of Shri Shri Radha Shyam Sundar ISKCON Prachar Samiti. Groups from Chandigarh and Delhi participated in it.
Sevadaar Hadaisut Prabhu (Harish Chandra Lohiya) associated with the committee told on Sunday that hundreds of devotees from Chandigarh and Delhi's ISKCON centre added colour to the Maha Mahotsav by performing Sankirtan. The tune of Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Hare Ram Hare Ram kept resonating till late night. The devotees present enjoyed the Maha Mahotsav by singing and dancing. In the program, every devotee who came was attractively smeared with sandalwood tilak. Sevadaar Brijesh Prabhu of the committee told that Session Judge Dinesh Mittal, Cabinet Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta, former Minister Savitri Jindal, former Mayor Shakuntala Rajliwala, former Chairman Hanuman Airan, Rekha Airan, social worker Pankaj Sandhir, Jagdish Jindal etc. who arrived as guests bowed their heads in the court and performed Abhishek. Apart from cultural programs in the Maha Mahotsav, dramas Gorvadhan Leela, Krishnavtar were staged.
School children enthralled the audience with their cultural programme. Hundreds of dignitaries performed Abhishek with Panchamrit. Water was brought from River Yamuna for Abhishek. Devotees performed Aarti. Mahaprasadam of 56 bhogs was distributed. Apart from a special swing of Radha-Krishna, free mehndi was applied. A feast was organised at the end. On this occasion, hundreds of sevadaars including Praveen Garg (Jhandu), Ashu Agarwal, Vikas Prabhu, Amit Kathuria, Sagar Lohia, Divesh Prabhu associated with the committee were present.
