Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta and Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta on Monday inaugurated the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey work at Agroha archaeological site in Hisar. Recently, an agreement was signed between the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Haryana Archeology and Museum Department to develop the Agroha archaeological site, after which the survey work has been started from Monday.
After completion of the survey, further action will be taken. Excavation work was last carried out at the Agroha archaeological site between 1978 and 1981. In the studies conducted so far, evidence of the existence of ancient civilization has been found under the mound at Agroha archaeological site. On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that this is an important step towards developing Agroha as a global city, for which his entire society is grateful to Chief Minister Manohar Lal, who has decided to conduct a survey here.
Many organizations of the Agrawal community had met the Chief Minister and proposed to get the Agroha mound excavated in view of its historical importance. Chief Minister Manohar Lal gladly accepted the proposal and gave instructions to take further action. He said that Agroha has become a rapidly developing center of culture and faith. Thousands of devotees from India and abroad come here to visit their motherland. Haryana Assembly Speaker said that Agroha will be developed as a world class tourism center under the ambitious plan of the government. We will also get information about our glorious history from the excavation of Agroha mound.
Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta said in his address that a plan has been prepared to develop Agroha as a global city within a radius of 25 kilometers. Agrasen is a very important location in terms of global city connectivity, which will become a center of international level religious tourism. Due to its archaeological and religious importance and its connection with the Harappan culture, there is immense tourism potential here. On this occasion, Principal Secretary of Heritage and Tourism Department MD Sinha, former Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Deepak Singhal, Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, SDM Jaiveer Yadav, National President of All India Agrawal Conference Gopal Sharan Garg, Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, Acharya Shri Balkanand, Deendayal. , Rajesh Garg, Khairati Lal and other distinguished citizens were present.
