Hisar: Election Observer and District Election Officer took stock of the election arrangements

Hisar, May 9 (Hissar). Election Supervisor Gopal Chand and District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya on Thursday inspected the counting centres, strong room and postal ballot counting center located at Mahavir Stadium and took stock of the arrangements. During this, all the concerned officers including ARO, Election Tehsildar Jagdeep Mann were present.

Election Observer Gopal Chand closely inspected all the arrangements made at the counting centres, strong rooms and postal ballot counting centres. During this, he took stock of the facilities like electricity, drinking water, CCTV cameras etc. at the counting centers and said that ramps should be made immediately in those counting centers where ramps are not available. Large LED screens should be installed outside the counting centers to show the round wise results of counting. He said that a facilitation center will be set up to provide voting facilities to the election workers. The polling personnel who are voters outside the assembly constituency can cast their vote through postal ballot and the voters who are within the assembly constituency can cast their vote through EDC.

District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya informed General Supervisor Gopal Chand that almost all the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections have been completed. To conduct the elections in a fair and transparent manner, polling stations will be closely monitored through web casting cameras. He said that through this system every activity taking place at the polling stations will be monitored. He directed the concerned officials to ensure the installation of mobile toilets outside the counting centers as well as providing facilities for clean drinking water. Wherever there are open holes of sewerage lines around the counting centres, covers should be installed. He also directed that in view of the summer season, water should be sprinkled around the polling stations on the day of counting so that dust etc. does not fly.
