Hisar, 5 October (Hissar). As per the instructions of the Central Election Commission, peaceful voting took place in all the seven assemblies of the district amidst sporadic violence in different areas. Under the voting process which started at 7 am in the morning, more than 66 percent voting took place at 1333 polling stations in the seven assemblies of the district.

The highest turnout was 73 percent in Adampur and the lowest was 58 percent in Hisar.

As per the instructions of the Central Election Commission and as per the arrangements made by the administration, the voting process started in all the seven assemblies in the morning. The district administration had made complete arrangements for fair and peaceful elections. 1133 polling stations have been established in the district. These included 496 critical polling stations from different areas, on which special monitoring was kept. There were reports of technical glitches in EVMs at one or two places but they were rectified immediately. Disabled people and elderly people also showed enthusiasm towards voting and came to cast their votes.

Till 7 pm, about 73 percent voting took place in Adampur assembly of the district, about 61 percent in Uklana, about 71 percent in Nalwa, about 69 percent in Narnaund. Similarly, about 68 percent voting took place in Barwala, about 64 percent in Hansi and 58 percent in Hisar.

Fights took place in Narnaund area

Except Narnaund, the voting process went on peacefully in all other assembly constituencies in the district. There are reports of fights in Narnaund village and Madanhedi. It is alleged that Congress people beat up BJP and INLD agents in Data village. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. Similarly, in Madanhedi village, another youth was reported stabbed over a dispute over voting.
